Application Fees of CTET December 2024 Exam

As per the Official Notification of CTET December 2024 from the Central Board of School Education (CBSE) Interested candidates have to Pay the registration fees. fees details are given Below:

CTET December 2024 Exam Eligibility

The eligibility criterion for the CTET is defined by the National Council for Teacher Education (NCTE). To qualify, you must fulfill minimum educational qualifications, for teaching classes I to V (Paper I) or classes VI to VIII (Paper II). Details are given below. Before Applying please read the Official Notification of CTET 2024(Link is given below)

For Paper I (Classes I to V):

  1. You should pass Senior Secondary (or its equivalent) with at least 45% marks and a 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  2. OR, you must be in the final year of a 4-year B.El.Ed program.
  3. OR, you must have passed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum 50% marks and B.Ed.


For Paper II (Classes VI to VIII):

  1. You must have passed Senior Secondary (or equivalent) with a minimum 45% marks and 2-year Diploma in Elementary Education.
  2. OR, you must be in the final year of a 4-year Bachelor of Elementary Education B.El.Ed.
  3. OR, you have cleared Graduation and possess a bachelor of education B.Ed

Exam Time Table

The CBSE will conduct the CTET December 2024 exam on 1 December 2024.

  1. The CTET Paper-II (TGT) will be held on 1 December 2024 in the morning shift from 09:30 am to 12:00 noon.
  2. The CTET Paper-I (PRT) will be held on 1 December 2024 will be held on 1 December 2024 in the Evening shift from 02:30 pm to 05:00 pm.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern

  1. The CTET exam consists of two papers: Paper I For those who want to become class I to V teachers
  2. Paper II For those who want to become class VI to VIII teachers.
  3. In case you want to teach both primary as well as upper primary levels, then you have to appear for both papers.

CTET 2024 Exam Pattern: Both papers contain 150 multiple-choice questions, each carrying one mark, without any negative marking. Each paper is 2.5 hours in duration.

The CTET syllabus is rather lengthwise and divided into two papers( Paper 1 and Paper 2): Details are given below. please read the official notification for more details: (The official Syllabus PDF is Available Link is Given below)

Paper I (Classes I to V)

This paper comprises of:

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy: This would include child development, inclusive education, and learning and pedagogy.
  2. Mathematics: Geometry, numbers, operations, measurement, data handling, patterns, and money, plus pedagogical issues.
  3. Environmental Studies: family and friends, food, shelter, water, travel, things we make and do, pedagogical issues of teaching Environmental Studies.
  4. Language I: Language understanding as well as pedagogy of language development
  5. Language II: Same as Language I but in a different language.


Paper II (for Classes VI to VIII)

This paper includes:

  1. Child Development and Pedagogy: Same as Paper I but for 11-14-year-olds.
  2. Mathematics and Science OR Social Studies/Social Science: You choose one of these as per your liking for teaching. It involves content and pedagogy issues in the chosen subjects.
  3. Language I: As Paper I
  4. Language II : As Paper I.

Important Note: Questions are based on the NCERT syllabus for the relevant classes, but the difficulty level and the relationship of topics can be compared to that of secondary or senior secondary classes.

As mentioned, the CTET notification also clarifies that it would guarantee a candidate scoring above 60% of marks will be treated as passed the examination.
It also declares that school management can allow concessions or relaxations in the qualifying marks on a case-to-case basis for SC/ST/OBC/differently-abled candidates.
